Saying Farewell After 35 Years of Service

Terrace View Gardens would like to extend a huge thank you to Barb Hartsock for 35 years of service. Barb worked her last day at Terrace View on April 28 and has officially retired. Barb has been a valuable member of our team and we truly appreciate her dedication to the residents and the facility and her great work ethic. She has been a shining example of our Culture of Care!

Barb grew up in Northern Kentucky and later moved to the west side of Cincinnati, where she began working for one of our Foundations Health Solutions sister facilities. Caring for others has always come naturally to Barb. When her Mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, she dropped out of school to care for her and later went back to school to receive her GED. Barb always had a passion for working with the elderly and has strived to be instrumental in making a difference in their lives.



During her leisure time, Barb enjoys being with her husband of 40 years and their two daughters, two grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoys gardening and working on home improvement projects.

Barb began working in dietary and housekeeping, later became a nurse aide, and then expanded her knowledge to learn medical records. It was then that she decided to follow her dreams and start nursing school at Scarlet Oaks, which she attended alongside her daughter. Both Barb and her daughter graduated in 2004, becoming Licensed Practical Nurses. Barb transferred to Terrace View in 2014, and we have been grateful to have her as part of the Terrace View Gardens Team ever since!

When asked about her long tenure here, Barb stated, “The people, we’re a family here." She will be deeply missed, but we wish Barb much love and happiness in this next chapter of her life.
