September Resident Spotlight

Terrace View Gardens loves to get to know our residents on a personal level and truly connect with them. We love serving the community here in Cincinnati, Ohio, and getting the opportunity to meet some amazing individuals who come into our facility. We wanted to take a moment to highlight our September Resident Spotlight, George G.!
George was born and raised in Cincinnati, where he attended St. Peters in Chains School. He used to work for a hardware store in Bridgetown, where he would repair small appliances. Growing up, George always wanted to be as independent as possible, so he chose to live alone. With the help and support of his one sister and several good friends, he was able to make that happen. George always loved to walk from his apartment on Glenway to Downtown Cincinnati and sit at Fountain Square to people-watch and converse with whomever he met. This was a 6-mile walk one way, and then he would walk back home. He preferred to walk and was never interested in taking the bus.
George has always had a love for airplanes, radios and trains. He loved trains so much that he and his friend, Don, would take day trips to Chicago by train every year for the 17 years prior to George's admission here. George always looked forward to that day to spend time with his friend and experience another great train ride. George also really enjoys playing the piano. Every so often, we will get lucky and hear him sit down at the piano to play some beautiful music for us.
Since being at Terrace View Gardens, George has come out of his shell a bit and seems to enjoy the company of the staff. He looks forward to the yearly visit from Santa, along with the surprise gifts. He also shared that he enjoys the family picnics, especially when we have the petting zoo.
